Applications are invited for the Strategic SDGs Conference, Nigeria. The Strategic Sustainable Development Goals Conference is a unique platform for young people to gain awareness, research, discuss solutions and present recommendations to key challenges for some components of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. By participating in this conference, delegates will have the opportunity to expand their knowledge of global issues, engage in diplomatic discussions, and develop a deeper understanding of international relations.
The United Nations Inter-Agency Group on Ageing (IAGA) was set up to strengthen the inclusion of older persons in the UN system. IAGA consists 22 representatives from UN entities such as UNESCO, UNDP, WHO among others. As a step to create awareness, advocacy and policy projection with the ultimate aim of supporting the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3, PIPO GLOBAL FOUNDATION hosts the 1st STRATEGIC SDGs CONFERENCE in NIGERIA.

22 delegates would emerge from a pool of applicants to represent each of the United Nations Inter-Agency Group on Ageing (IAGA) 22 entities, alongside 80 other participants. Delegates would prepare and present their positions on the theme: Empowering Older Women – Achieving Gender Equality through Allowing Inclusive Policies in Nigeria. Recommendations would be projected to relevant policy making agencies in Nigeria and to the UN-IAGA.
This event holds 30th September – 1st October to commemorate the UN International Day of World Older Persons. It begins with SDGs information sessions and proceedings. Participants will then participate in the main presentation exercise to practise public speaking and diplomatic skills. A notable opportunity-sharing symposium will allow attendees to learn from the “Leveraging on International Opportunities” session where 6 global leaders share secrets of their success with participants. A formal dinner and awards ceremony concludes the programme.
